Using the Ministry of Social Development NZ funds, Arasan NZ Trust planned support to Sri Lankan families in three cities, post Lynn Mall Incident – Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington.

Otepoti Dunedin Diwali

Diwali celebration in Dunedin organized by Arasan NZ Trust in association with Otago Museum and Natyaloka School of Indian Dance. 

Activities included Bollywood Dance Workshop,  henna hand painting (mehndi), putting bindi on forehead, and learning to wrap a turban or drape a saree, rangoli artist on site making patterns on the Museum floor with colored powder. Along with stalls selling saree and jewelry and Otago Museum Café serving traditional Indian food.

Arasan New Zealand in partnership with Dunedin Tamil Society, Pakistan Association of New Zealand (Otago) and Dunedin Malayali Association organised a vaccination uptake event.
